Bring Your Legacy to Life

Prints by Adam Angel
A good picture can captivate your imagination, release your mind, and launch your own creativity in new ways. A photograph does not get used up. It gives you new perspective every time you look at it, and your depth of understanding will increase continually. Surrounding yourself by art is the surest way to make this part of your life. As a good friend of mine says, "this is furniture for your walls." The art on your walls sets the tone in your private spaces and not only reflects your tastes, but makes them. It only takes a second to enjoy these benefits every day. Find an image, present it under the best possible light, and start enjoying right away.

Your prints are the final interpretation and presentation of your creative vision. Free from the limits of the electronic rigamarole we are currently immersed in, Fine Art Collector's Prints are heirlooms that can be enjoyed for generations. To truly understand what you are looking at, you must see these prints in person, presented in perfect conditions.

The more and that we move from the actual to the virtual, the more impressive the genuine article becomes. Keeping this in mind, please understand when you are viewing images online that your monitor is not producing the full gamut of colors, nor is it color accurate. Never mind the varying quality of monitors and viewing environments. When you purchase an Fine Art Print, you can rest assured knowing that you are getting the highest quality product available on the market today.

I don't want to live in the past by harping on the stories of previous journeys.
I do however want to look at my prints again and again because each time I see something new...

Is the Kalākora Lab right for you?
If you want the highest quality print possible from your digital file then our lab is for you. Obviously you can gets prints from other places for a lot less money, and those labs are great at low-cost mass production. That is what they do best and we can't compete with their economy of scale. They print from highly compressed 8-bit files. An 8-bit image file is typically inadequate to print smooth gradations. This is especially pronounced as print size becomes larger. Some of these inexpensive labs produce prints that will last a very long time or not. Buyer beware, do your homework on the long term stability of their prints. Lastly, "color management" at these low cost labs will very greatly. Again, do your homework. Even if you received one color accurate print from them, it doesn't mean that the next one will match...
•
Our lab prints from uncompressed 16-bit files. A carefully processed 16-bit image file is capable of producing beautifully smooth gradations and precise color. The difference is visible in the print, especially in large scale images. We also apply the most sophisticated image specific sharpening available to each print based on the image's size and content, and the chosen paper and ink combination. Sharpening combined with increased color information yields the finest prints available anywhere. We always use paper and ink combinations that maximize print longevity as permanence is a top priority for us. To ensure color consistency we use a closed-loop color-calibrated system to ensure perfect color every time.
EVERYTHING is kept in-house and no print leaves the premises until it has been thoroughly inspected and deemed "perfect."

Lastly, we can't help ourselves when it comes to "hand-holding." If an image file comes to us and we feel that there is still untapped potential, we will work with you create a superior print. We are there to support your creative process until the final masterpiece is committed to paper and becomes your legacy...
We offer consulting services for this specifically at 300/hr, but our repeat Lab clients know that they usually get a lot of help gratis as part of the creative process we love...
