PHOTOGRAPHER / MOUNTAIN GUIDE / ENTREPRENEUR
"I work continually because all of my work is play."
Since 1992 Adam Angel has worked extensively in the Washington Cascades, Alaska, Mexico, Ecuador, Russia, Peru, Mongolia, Argentina, Tanzania, Nepal and Tibet. His work as a photographer, climbing guide, trip director, and instructor has gathered a loyal following who gravitate towards Adam's unique ability to share authentic experiences though Fine Art Prints, the collection of objets d'art, and the experience itself.
...on a meditative pilgrimage to beautify the world through imagination...
Adam lives in Sun Valley where he produces photographic prints for himself and the Kalākora Society. He consults on many aspects of photography and is a lead guide for one of the most active guiding companies in existence today. His safety record in the mountains is perfect and his success rate is very high. He is the only Rainier guide since 1974 to successfully guide a "high level circumnavigation" of Mount Rainier.
The presentation of photographic prints is equally important to Adam, and has led him to design spaces and systems for the presentation of art, culminating with the opening of Kalākora Gallery and the Ange/Smi+)( Gallery Hanging System.

“In the beginning I wanted to show people what we saw on expeditions andtry to bring a little of the magic home . I soon realized that the real magic is in the humanity that you encounter while traveling the world. We are all climbing a mountain, that’s life. Lessons learned in the mountains help us get the most out of every day.”
Adam's philosophy: "The grand experiences of climbing and photography are best shared with good friends and are rewarding catalysts for experiencing our pla net." He and his family are avid skiers and spend as much time as possible cycling, stand -up-paddle boarding, and traveling the world together.
While most of the trips that Adam does for International Mountain Guides are not officially photography related, many people choose to travel with him for his photographic expertise. Some groups are not photographers, but are collectors of Adam's work. Others just like good company!!!
